IBM completes $1 billion acquisition of Merge Healthcare

IBM announced this week that the company has officially completed its $1 billion acquisition of Merge Healthcare.

As part of the deal, which was first announced back in August, Merge shareholders will receive $7.13 in cash per share.

IBM has said Merge will become a big part of the company’s Watson Health business unit.

Kyu Rhee, MD, IBM chief health officer, spoke with RadiologyBusiness.com after the deal was first announced, answering questions about the deal and IBM’s future.
