Mercy launches new PACS imaging solution ‘by busy radiologists for busy radiologists’

Mercy Technology Services in St. Louis, Missouri, the Mercy health system's IT division, has announced the launch of its new PACS imaging solution. The solution is set to include an enterprise viewer, VNA, speech recognition and reporting capabilities and more.

By using the solution internally, the health system said it has decreased report turnaround by up to 50 percent. Now, it will be made available to hospitals throughout the country.

“Mercy’s is a solution built by busy radiologists for busy radiologists, and they’re thrilled with it,” Steve Bollin, Mercy’s vice president of radiology support services, said in a prepared statement. “We were bogged down before. Now, having everything together and instantly viewable with the click of a button—all prior studies, all modalities – means radiologists aren’t waiting and neither are patients.”

“With this solution, hospitals can forego the upfront infrastructure expense, pay only for what’s used on a per-study basis and supply all the advanced features needed on the frontlines,” Gil Hoffman, Mercy’s chief information officer, said in the same statement. “If you ask me, it’s a smart way to get the most out of an investment in better patient care.”
