New survey data indicate that addressing the effect of technologists’ missed opportunities during their training may be a yearslong effort.

The new data mark a positive change amid years of healthcare staffing woes amplified by the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Neuroradiology has topped the field among imaging subspecialties vying for new fellows to train, filling 287 of 316 certified positions—a 90.8% fill rate—across 87 fellowship programs.

Since interventional radiology is a fairly new specialty, this information could be critical to its continued growth.
