Illinois Researchers Working on New Computational 3D Methods
Researchers at the University of Illinois have developed a computational method for correcting 3D tissue microscopy errors that could improve image focus without the use of adaptive hardware. <-- MORE! SHORT-->
According to Photonics, the team demonstrated its concept in rat lung tissue as well as with gel-based phantoms, correcting images gathered from an astigmatic scanner with its software algorithm.
“These computational techniques allow us to do is to go beyond what you can with optics alone to ultimately get the best-quality images and 3D data sets of biological tissue,” said researcher Steven Adie.
