CDI Acquires The MRI Centers of New England
The Minneapolis-based outpatient imaging center network Center for Diagnostic Imaging (CDI) has expanded its regional presence in Massachusetts with the acquisition of The MRI Centers of New England.
According to Patricia Zadra, CDI senior vice president, the imaging chain entered the Massachusetts market a little over a year ago when it joined with Insight Imaging, the parent company to MRI of Chelmsford and Open MRI of Dedham. With the acquisition of The MRI Centers of New England’s Woburn and Peabody, Mass., locations — as well as an agreement to manage the company’s two other centers in Haverhill and Springfield, Mass. — CDI now either owns or manages six imaging centers in the state.
"We are excited about growing our presence in Massachusetts," stated Jennifer Gilchrist, director of operations at CDI, in the press release. "CDI gives patients an alternative for high-quality care at costs around 30 to 50 percent less than hospital-affiliated providers in the area, which is significant given the growing popularity of high-deductible health plans and larger co-pays.”
The centers offer advanced high-field MRI services, X-ray and arthrography, as well as the Boston area's only high-field open MRI.
"CDI entered the market just over a year ago when we came together with Insight Imaging, the parent company to MRI of Chelmsford and Open MRI of Dedham," states Patricia Zadra, senior vice president at CDI. "Recently, we acquired two of the four MRI Centers of New England locations in Woburn and Peabody. We are managing the remaining two locations in Haverhill and Springfield, bringing our total Massachusetts presence to six centers."
