Sectra acquires Danish company it-mark

Medical IT and technology company Sectra has announced its acquisition of it-mark, a Danish company specializing in cloud services to the business and healthcare sectors.

According to the Sectra press release, it-mark is Denmark’s biggest supplier of online imaging services to private healthcare providers. The company has been distributing Sectra products since 2007, with sales just under $2 million in 2014.

Petter Østbye, head of Sectra’s sales companies for medical IT operations in Scandinavia, says Sectra will benefit from it-mark’s experience in the Danish market.

“it-mark has delivered Sectra PACS as a cloud service and has extensive knowledge of the requirements imposed by Danish healthcare customers,” Østbye said in the press release. “The acquisition will strengthen our operations in Denmark significantly.”

Deals such as this one with it-mark reflect Sectra’s preferred strategy when it comes to growing in a specific area; the company grows organically while also acquiring established, successful businesses from that region.

Some other companies Sectra has acquired over the years include Imetc, ImaXperts BV and Burnbank Group. The deal is expected to close on April 30.
