Rhode Island Medical Imaging announces acquisition of Radiology Associates
Rhode Island Medical Imaging (RIMI), a network of private imaging facilities founded in 1943, has acquired Radiology Associates, the company announced this week.
RIMI will now own and operate three Radiology Associates locations located throughout Rhode Island: one in East Providence, at the Metacomet Office Park; one in Providence, at the Bayside Medical Center; and one in Warwick, on Centerville Road. Overall, the deal gives RIMI a total of 11 outpatient imaging centers throughout Rhode Island.
“The opportunity to join Rhode Island Medical Imaging is the best thing for our patients,” Vincent DeCesaris, MD, Radiology Associates president, said in a statement. “My partners and I have built this practice from the ground up and pride ourselves with providing exceptional service for the people of Rhode Island and their physicians. Joining RIMI was a logical choice for us given our shared focus on quality of care and the challenges smaller medical groups now face in the current healthcare environment. Both groups have been part of the Rhode Island healthcare community for many years, and we expect this to continue well into the future.”
John Pezzullo, MD, RIMI president, said in the same statement he was excited to work with DeCesaris and integrate the two companies.
“Radiology Associates has a wonderful reputation for mammography services – evident in the experienced and compassionate technologists and clinical staff,” Pezzullo said. “We are humbled by the loyalty patients have for the mammography services at Radiology Associates, and we hope to earn the trust that will allow patients to continue their care with RIMI.”
The official change is scheduled to take place in the first week of December.
