MRI scans ... printed in 3D?
MRI scans can now be turned into 3D CAD models, according to a recent article posted by the 3D printing website 3DPrint.com. Those models can then be printed on a 3D printer.
Writer Michelle Matisons typed up a summary of the breakthrough on Nov. 28.
“I have read and written about a lot of 3D printed medical models, and this is the first reference I have heard to using radiography chips in models for exploring peripheral damage,” Matisons wrote. “What an excellent idea!”
