Tower Imaging Medical Group joins Strategic Radiology

Strategic Radiology announced Wednesday, May 16, that Los Angeles-based Tower Imaging Medical Group has joined the organization’s coalition of independent radiology practices as an affiliate.

Tower Imaging Medical Group provides imaging services to Providence St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, California, and Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital in Valencia, California. The practice was founded in 1979.

“We envision Strategic Radiology as providing the structure to allow us to combat the move towards corporate and private equity acquisition of radiology contracts and practices,” Bruce J. Yawitz, MD, president of Tower Imaging Medical Group, said in a prepared statement. “Alignment with other medium-sized groups will help maintain our competitiveness and personalized service delivery in this increasingly corporate environment.”

“Tower Imaging Medical Group is a welcome addition to our coalition,” Arl Van Moore Jr., MD, CEO and chair of Strategic Radiology, said in the same statement. “With respect to quality, service, and vision, Tower Imaging demonstrates a commitment to what is best about the local, independent practice of radiology.”

With the addition of Tower Imaging Medical Group, Strategic Radiology’s coalition now includes 22 independent radiology practices.
