Patient Image Exchange puts patients 'in the driver’s seat'
December 15, 2022

December 13, 2022 (St. Joseph, MO): When it comes to accessing key medical data and images, patients want, and need, to be in the driver’s seat. As an increasing number of patients express interest in taking control of their healthcare, the industry has responded with patient portals – but now patients have a way to better manage their medical imaging and other healthcare related information.

Patient Image Exchange LLC has recently been established by OffSite Image Management CEO Lasha Dalakishvili. The purpose of Patient Image Exchange is to facilitate healthcare record management at the user/patient level.

Dalakishvili says if patients want to take a stronger position in managing their medical records, Patient Image Exchange is what they’ve been looking for.

“A patient rarely gets to control who accesses their data,” he said, “and in many ways, they must give up control of their own medical images and data. Now they can manage the delivery and access to their medical records, and make sure their healthcare is in the right hands”

When using this service, patients have the ability to upload and share data without limitations. From radiology CDs to PDF to JPG files, patients can use their smartphone connected to the Patient Image Exchange app and upload images, share lab results, immunizations records, nurses’ notes, dental images and much more.

All uploaded data is standardized so it can easily be loaded to any diagnostic system. This service is easy to use, but it’s also highly secure, allowing patients full control over their medical records. And while this service gives patients control, it’s also built for physicians, hospitals, dentists, attorneys and anyone who needs access to and a better way to manage images and other healthcare data.

“You are always able to share your records with anyone who needs them,” Dalakshvili said. “You can keep them safe and easily accessible as you view your records through an FDA-approved diagnostic viewer. It works in any modern web browser. A secure link to each record can be emailed easily and safely to doctors, family members, attorneys, insurance providers or any outside party.”

For providers interested in using the service, they will have the ability to streamline data flow through their practice and manage all incoming medical records and standardize the data by placing a Patient Image Exchange upload portal on their website.

Dalakishvili says providers not only gain an edge by managing incoming patient data, but they can also work with radiology images and radiology reports, EKG/EMG strips and pathology slides, ophthalmology images and dental images, lab results and immunization records, medication records and government IDs.

The technology is free to individual patient users, and there are several annual subscription options based on the organization’s needs.
