Rad Partners details how it is ‘revolutionizing’ radiology reports
Industry giant Radiology Partners recently detailed how it is aiming to “revolutionize” the reports it produces for referrers.
The El Segundo, California-based practice’s Clinical Value Team said it surveyed almost 600 physicians, gathering feedback on what they desire in imaging results. From that, Rad Partners produced three frequently used samples, incorporating the same clinical info but with varying structures and level of detail.
A second survey of the same group revealed a key preference.
“When the results were in, the most popular report included a uniform structure and a medium level of detail,” RP said in a July 28 blog post.
Leaders used the findings to create 125 reporting templates covering 85% of the practice’s imaging volume. To help encourage use across RP’s team of more than 3,600 physicians, the Clinical Value Team shared survey data, “emphasizing that restructuring reports to align with referring physicians’ needs improves patient care.”
“This project has proven beneficial for our referring physicians and our radiologists, and we have significant momentum for continual improvement,” CMO Krishna Nallamshetty, MD, said in the news item. “When physicians from all specialties work together to make things better for each other, patients ultimately benefit, and that’s what it’s all about.”
