Sheridan acquires Radiology Associates of Hollywood in continued push into radiology

Sheridan Healthcare, Sunrise, Fla., the physician services division of Amsurg Corp., is continuing to expand its presence in the radiology space with the acquisition of Radiology Associates of Hollywood, Pembroke Pines, Fla., ranked 38 on Radiology Business Journal's list of the 100 largest private radiology practices.

Radiology Associates of Hollywood has 53 subspecialty trained radiologists who read more than 800,000 studies annually and provide services to a dozen hospitals and imaging facilities in Broward County. Over the past 40 years it has provided services to the Memorial Healthcare System. Sheridan, which specializes in comprehensive physician services in anesthesiology, emergency medicine, neonatology and radiology. is a division of Amsurg.

This is the second major acquisition this year by Amsurg in the radiology space. In January, Sheridan acquired Radisphere Radiology, a national corporate radiology practice active in 25 states that employs more than 100 radiologists who provide both teleradiology and onsite services.
