Agreement Integrates CAD, Functional Analytics

Medicsight PLC, a provider of computer-aided detection (CAD) and medical image analysis software headquartered in London, England, has entered into a technology integration agreement with Ziosoft, Inc., a Redwood City, Calif.-based vendor of functional imaging visualization software. The combination of the companies’ two solutions will enable computer-aided detection with supercomputing functional analysis. In addition to the integration of Medicsight’s ColonCAD™ API software and Ziosoft’s Ziostation™ technology, the agreement calls for the distribution of both technologies by Ziosoft in the U.S. One of the first U.S. sites to use the combined Medicsight and Ziosoft technologies will be the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health (UWH) in Madison. ColonCAD is designed to assist radiologists during their review of CT colonography images by automatically highlighting potential colorectal polyps (possible precursors to colorectal cancer) on the CT image. Medicsight received U.S. regulatory clearance for clinical use of the technology this past May. Read the press release.
