DaVita Acquires HealthCare Partners in $4.42B Deal

By the end of 2012, kidney care provider DaVita will add “HealthCare Partners” to its name, as the latter was acquired by the former in a $4.42 billion deal that forms a network of coordinated care services serving 667,000 patients. DaVita has made other significant investments in the earlier part of this year, Nasdaq reported. “DaVita frequently acquires companies both domestically as well as internationally in order to expand its business,” Zacks Investment Research wrote for the site, pointing out that DaVita bought a controlling interest in a Saudi Arabian kidney care company (Lehbi Care) and invested about $20 million in China just since March of this year.
