Fujifilm Proposes Partnership with Stricken Olympus

Furthering its goals of expansion, executives for Fujifilm Holdings Corporation said at a news conference in Tokyo Monday that it proposed a partnership with Olympus Corporation, according to a Bloomberg article. Olympus, the makers of cameras and endoscopes, lost more than half its market value last year as a result of an accounting scandal. As part of the deal, Fujifilm might invest in Olympus and exchange executives, according to the article. Fujifilm has completed 21 acquisitions in five years. Earlier this year, Fujifilm acquired U.S. ultrasound maker Sonosite.
