GE Healthcare Launches Vascular Visualization Software
imageGE Healthcare this week introduced a vascular visualization software application designed to enhance digital subtraction angiography and, in turn, offer to interventional radiologists what the company deems a “new vision” of vascular flow. Unveiled at the Society of Interventional Radiology’s Annual Scientific Meeting in Chicago, the application—called AngioViz--yields new information from previously available data. It determines for each pixel the peak value of opacification and the time needed to reach peak opacification. These two parameters can be displayed as separate images or combined in several ways in a single color-coded image. In addition to reviewing whole temporal DSA sequences to see the information, physicians using the application can perceive both temporal and contrast intensity information in a single image, AngioViz also allows for the comparison of parametric images from different DSA acquisitions, such as pre- and post-treatment images, or images of the right and left cerebral hemisphere.
