New York Imaging Service Acquires GXC Imaging
The deal makes New York Imaging Service (NYIS), Newburgh, NY, the largest privately owned digital X-ray dealer in New York State.
The terms of the deal to acquire Western New York-based GXC Imaging Specialists were not disclosed.
Acquiring the a 54-year-old medical imaging company specializing in capital equipment sales and service continues a buying spree NYIS has been on for more than a year. In 2012, NYIS acquired Optimal Imaging of Holbrook, NY, in August; Metropolitan Medical Imaging of Eatontown, NJ in March; and Professional Equipment Company of Guilford, CT in October. (Professional Equipment Company operates under the name Prestige Medical Imaging, the company brand used in markets outside of New York.)
In the press release, NYIS also said it was not done seeking acquisitions. It expects to continue its expansion in the mid-Atlantic and New England regions. Currently, it provides diagnostic and cloud-based service technology to hospitals and imaging facilities in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania.

Rob Muzzio, president of GXC Imaging, will remain with the organization and hold a leadership role for NYIS in the Western New York region.

This acquisition is a natural extension of our close collaboration and will enable us to provide an unprecedented level of product choice, technologically advanced support and superior service to hospitals and imaging centers in this region,” he stated in the press release.
