Philips Buys AllParts Medical, Charts Course In Russia

Royal Philips Electronics announced yesterday that it has acquired AllParts Medical, a privately owned, Nashville, Tenn.-based provider of imaging equipment parts and training. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Greg Sebasky, general manager of customer services, Philips Healthcare, says the acquisition will enhance Philips’ ability to offer tailored service offerings and enhance the lifecycle management of its customers' imaging equipment. AllParts Medical offers replacement parts, technical training, and support for X-ray-based imaging equipment, such as general X-ray, cardiovascular X-ray, and X-ray Computed Tomography (CT). Additionally, Phillips revealed Sunday that it has formed an agreement with Russian State Atomic Energy Corp. (Rosatom) to develop a nuclear medicine industry in Russia. The move marks the first time an international manufacturer of nuclear medicine equipment has declared an intention to grant a local partner a license for scanner production in Russia, according to a statement issued by Philips.
