Zecotek Pens Agreement with NuCare on PET Integration

Zecotek Photonics Inc., based in Germany, announced this week it signed an agreement with Seoul, Korea-based Nucare Medical Systems to integrate a high-performance PET scanner. The PET technology uses Zecotek’s “LFS scintillation crystals, solid-state MAPD photo detectors and a new data acquisition board and readout system,” according to a press release. The development agreement stands to enhance the data acquisition and readout electronics. The new generation PET scanner will primarily be marketed in China and other emerging economies, the release states.
