Canon Medical Systems, AHRA continue annual Putting Patients First program
Canon Medical Systems U.S.A. is once again partnering with AHRA to support the annual Putting Patients First program, which awards research grants for improving patient care through medical imaging.
Eight grants will be awarded through the program in 2019, including six grants for up to $7,500 and two grants for up to $10,000. The six $7,500 grants will go to single-site hospitals and imaging centers. Two grants are focused on diagnostic imaging, two are focused on pediatric imaging and one each will be focused on musculoskeletal imaging and oncology imaging.
“For over a decade, Canon Medical has provided $685,000 to the Putting Patients First program, which has made possible more than 70 grants focused on bringing a wide range of innovations in diagnostic imaging to help advance patient care,” Angelic Bush, CRA, past president of AHRA, said in a prepared statement. “Today, cost burdens in the healthcare industry make the need for a grant program like Putting Patients First more important than ever to help continue to drive change and improvement in the health care industry.”
“It has been exciting to watch this program successfully evolve in conjunction with the changing needs of the market, starting with hospitals and then opening up to integrated delivery networks,” Catherine Wolfe, senior director of marketing and communications for Canon Medical Systems U.S.A., said in the same statement. “From the beginning, this program has opened doors for the innovative ideas and solutions presented by health care and imaging professionals in local communities around the country that are helping to shape the future of health care.”
More information is available here. The deadline to apply for these grants is Oct. 21. Winners, chosen by AHRA, will be announced in January 2020.
