Envision Healthcare acquires Decatur Radiology Physicians

Illinois-based Decatur Radiology Physicians (DRP) was acquired by Tennessee-based Envision Healthcare Corp., according to a statement from Edgemont Capital Partners, the healthcare investment banking firm that advised DRP during the acquisition. Full terms of the transaction have not yet been made public.

The acquisition marks the 83rd deal in radiology since 2008, the statement noted. DRP radiologists interpret 140,000 scans annually and provides services for Decatur Memorial Hospital, the only large hospital in Decatur, Illinois.

“DRP’s sale continues the trend of hospital outsourced clinical services consolidation driven by regulatory pressures, and most recently, the implementation of the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015,” the statement read.

Envision Healthcare Corp. was bought out on Oct. 11 by global investment firm KKR in a $9.9 billion transaction.
