Siemens Healthineers company Varian acquiring radiology services provider Aspekt Solutions

Siemens Healthineers company Varian is acquiring radiology and radiation oncology services provider Aspekt Solutions, the three organizations announced on Tuesday.

Based in Greenbelt, Maryland, the company delivers consulting to radiology departments and imaging centers including expertise in medical physics, dosimetry and strategy. The acquisition will allow Varian to expand its advanced oncology solutions offerings and address rising demand for customized services.

“With Aspekt Solutions, we can support more oncology centers with a holistic approach to addressing today's challenges while also preparing for the fast-evolving future of cancer care,” Chuck Lindley, VP of Advanced Oncology Solutions at Varian, said in a Sept. 26 announcement.

Aspekt has been in business for more than 20 years and also offers staffing solutions, compliance services, technology help including training and planning, and radiation safety assistance. CEO Brian Pellegrini said the acquired company’s immediate focus will be on ensuring “the transition is as smooth as it is beneficial for customers and Aspekt Solutions employees.”

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Siemens Healthineers acquired Varian in 2021 in a deal valued at more than $16 billion. The industry giant also teamed with hospital giant CommonSpirit earlier this year to announce the joint acquisition of Block Imaging.
