In the fast lane: Medical device startup recruiting from auto industry
A new medical device company in Australia is drawing inspiration from an unlikely source: the automobile industry.
Micro-X recently opened its headquarters in Adelaide, South Australia, and will be producing lightweight x-ray machines. The company’s managing director, Peter Rowland, told Manufacturers’ Monthly it is recruiting workers from a car manufacturing plant.
“The idea of sourcing talent from the car industry has proven to be an absolute breakthrough because it’s a mindset that nobody—at least in my knowledge—has ever thought of applying to medical devices,” Rowland said, as quoted in the story.
Rowland went on to say he loves the car industry’s “rigor and discipline.”
