Hitachi Medical Systems today received FDA clearance to market its Echelon Oval Ultra-Wide MR system, which boasts the widest design of any MR unit on the market. At 74 cm, the 1.5T open-bore scanner is meant to benefit particularly patients who suffer from obesity and claustrophobia, with advanced fat-suppression functionality and a table that is broad enough to capture high-quality images without sacrificing patient comfort.
