Philips, Nuance collaborate to assist with radiation dose management

Royal Philips and Nuance Communications have reached an agreement that allows users of Nuance’s PowerScribe 360, the reporting and communication platform, to import patient data directly from Philips’ DoseWise Portal software, which collects, measures and reports radiation exposure.

PowerScribe 360 is used to process a total of 264 million exams per year.

The collaboration comes at a time when various regulations are requiring radiologists and technologists to monitor and report patient dose information at a higher, more detailed rate than ever before.

When PowerScribe 360 and the DoseWise Portal are used together, the patient’s electronic medical records can be automatically updated with the dose, saving radiologists time and eliminating the possibility of human errors during the transcription of that information.
