Sectra announces new interface to help pathologists work digitally

Medical IT and technology company Sectra announced the development of a new interface between the company’s digital pathology product and PALGA U-DPS, a nationwide registry located in the Netherlands. Sectra said pathologists can use this new technology to work 100 percent digitally when working with histology slides.

“The interface with PALGA U-DPS is key in providing the Dutch market with efficient digital pathology workflows,” Simon Häger, Sectra product manager, said in a prepared statement. “A tighter link between the pathology PACS and the LIMS has been proven to significantly increase workflow efficiency in Sectra’s previous installations. This is why we make links to other systems such as this a top priority.”

The statement notes that Sectra’s pathology product is built on the same platform as its radiology PACS, meaning images from both specialties can share a single system.
