The Chicago-based imaging systems manufacturer said it plans to pay the purchase price in cash, believing the acquisition demonstrates its “continued commitment to cloud-enabled and AI-powered solutions.” 

The country’s largest imaging group is buying Palo Alto, California-based Cognita Imaging Inc., which was founded by scientists at Stanford University. 

The publicly traded imaging center operator is adding Kingston-based River Radiology, which has billed itself as the oldest imaging group in Ulster County. 

Moody’s noted that Blackstone and TPG are financing the transaction with $12.25 billion in debt, spread across three separate loans. 

“Becoming an independent department elevates this work and strengthens UCLA’s role in shaping the future of precision health," said the department's new acting chairman. 

On Aug. 28, Siemens alerted customers about safety issues with nine different scanners from its Magnetom series of MRI offerings.

If the effort succeeds, the Raleigh, North Carolina-based imaging group would soon begin trading on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol LMRI. 

Transparent Imaging currently distributes work to more than 200 radiologists, who collectively read over 1 million imaging exams per year.

Northern California-based Vituity, which is led and owned by doctors, said it has reached a deal to partner with Focused Medical Imaging. 

Oklahoma will use Humata Health, a firm founded by “recovering radiologist” Jeremy Friese, MD, who said he had grown frustrated with the struggles of prior authorization.
