Reporting update: PI-RADS version 2.1 released to public
The PI-RADS Steering Committee, a collaboration between the American College of Radiology (ACR), European Society of Urogenital Radiology and AdMeTech Foundation, has published a new update to its Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System (PI-RADS).
The update, PI-RADS version 2.1, is available on the ACR’s website and in European Urology. It features numerous updates, including new technical specifications for certain imaging sequences, but the system’s central framework remains unchanged.
“The goals of updating the PI-RADS assessment system for prostate MRI to version 2.1 are to further reduce imaging interpretation variability and errors, enhance communication with referring clinician(s) and patients, enable the collection of standardized data, and ultimately yield better patient outcomes,” Jeffrey Weinreb, MD, co-chair of the PI-RADS steering committee, said in a prepared statement.
