Radiology IT vendor Sectra inks $227M contract with large US health system
Sectra has inked a contract worth up to $227 million with a large U.S. health system, the imaging IT and cybersecurity vendor announced Wednesday.
The Linköping, Sweden-based company did not name the customer, but said the hospital group serves a “multi-million strong” patient community. Under the 10-year deal, Sectra will serve as its the sole enterprise imaging provider through 2033.
“Health systems are under tremendous pressure to maintain patient excellence while balancing growing financial and staffing concerns,” Isaac Zaworski, the president of Sectra, said in an Aug. 16 announcement. “We are thrilled for the opportunity to help this health leader execute a long-term multi-departmental imaging strategy as they focus on growing quality and sustainability in their health system,” he added later.
Sectra said the radiology department will serve as the initial user of this enterprise imaging cloud subscription service, with further expansion planned in pathology, cardiology and orthopedics. The company will collect the entire figure, if full terms of the contract are realized, and the amount does not include expansion into other service lines.
