CDI Names New Executive Chairman, CEO

imageCenter for Diagnostic Imaging (CDI), which owns, manages, and operates outpatient imaging centers in nine states, has appointed Robert V. Baumgartner to the position of Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors. Baumgartner, who for the past 10 years had served as CDI’s CEO and director, replaces Kenneth Heithoff, MD, as Chairman. Heithoff will continue to serve on the Board of Directors. Assuming the role of CDI’s CEO will be Tom Tomlinson, who for the past year had served as CDI”s president and chief operating officer for the past year and has been with the company since 2002. Tomlinson was also named to the Board of Directors. Baumgartner notes, “Tom has served as CFO, COO and president in his nine years with CDI and has been instrumental in the company’s growth. He will do a wonderful job as CEO.” In his new role, Tomlinson will focus on driving CDI’s national vision, strategy, and growth. He noted that with 58 imaging centers across the U.S. and a strong financial position, CDI is well positioned for the Under the leadership of Bob Baumgartner and Dr. Heithoff, CDI has transformed into a national leader in our market segments,” he asserted. Along with the promotion of Tomlinson, CDI announced the additional executive promotions of Rick Long and Tracy Wiese to the positions of COO and chief marketing and sales officer, respectively. Long joined CDI in 2004 and most recently served as senior vice president of operations, playing a critical role in helping the provider to engage in new and innovative partnerships. He will continue to focus his business development expertise on strengthening and expanding CDI’s presence in its current markets. This will include working with local CDI executives across the nation to collaborate with hospitals, physicians, payors, and employers as well as maintaining existing business. Wiese, who joined CDI in 2002 as vice president of marketing and product management, and most recently served as senior v ice President of management services. In this role, she led national market expansion for CDI’s consulting and management services group, working with hospitals and physicians to assess, reorganize, and more effectively operate their radiology and related service lines. In her new role, Wiese will provide leadership to the sales and marketing teams, as well as continue to lead the expansion of management services.
