Roat Takes Home RBMA Calhoun Award

Medical Management Professionals, Inc. (MMP), an Atlanta-based national firm provider of billing and practice management services to radiologists and imaging centers, has announced that Randal Roat, CHBME, its vice president of radiology services, received the Calhoun Award from the Radiology Business Management Association (RBMA) at the 2011 Radiology Summit. The annual award is presented to one individual who is deemed to have made outstanding contributions to radiology business management and the RBMA. Roat, who leads MMP’s Radiology Specialty Committee, is currently a member of the Payor Relations and Federal Affairs Committee within the RBMA. As past president of the Healthcare Business Management Association (HBMA), Roat also served with the RBMA board as its HBMA liaison. In addition, he has conducted numerous educational sessions and presented at RBMA trade shows and annual meetings and frequently contributes articles to various radiology industry newsletters and publications. Within MMP, he is actively involved in radiology practice strategic planning and practice management, technology and billing operations, and governmental advocacy, including regulatory and legislative issues related to radiology.—Julie Ritzer Ross
