Zotec, MBS Announce Merger
Zotec Partners, an Indianapolis, Indiana-based provider of medical billing, practice management, and Radiology Information Systems (RIS) software and services, have announced plans to merge with Medical Business Service, Inc. (MBS), Coral Gables, Florida.
Brothers and MBS co-owners Tom and Bing Herald (CEO and president, respectively), will remain partners in the company. They will focus their expertise on client services..
The two companies originally formed a technology alliance in May 2010. This agreement gave practices access to Zotec Partners’ technology and specialized billing services, along with practice management and revenue cycle management services from MBS. During the past year, most of MBS’ clients have migrated to Zotec Partners’ technology platform, enabling a seamless transition under terms of the merger, according to principals of both organizations.
Founded in 1960, MBS is one of the largest privately owned leaders providing billing services for hospital-based physicians and serves clients in 10 states.
Zotec Partners, which is recognized as one of the largest privately held medical billing companies in the U.S., utilizes its flagship product, the Electronic Billing Center (EBC) practice management and billing software suite, to service approximately 5,500 physicians in 45 states. Its EBC RIS software version 6.7 is certified for Ambulatory Meaningful Use by the Certified HIT Product List under the EHR Module product classification.
