New Wave May Approach Hospital Replacement PACS
The research firm KLAS reports that nearly 1 in 6 hospitals with more than 1,000 beds plan to replace their PACS system. Most hospitals, however, are more focused on meeting meaningful use criteria, based on a survey conducted by the firm.
The results are detailed in a report titled PACS 2011: A Victim of its Own Success. The authors say that while replacement PACS at hospitals have been slow, a new wave of replacement systems may be approaching.
