MMP Exec Randal Roat Named Strategic Radiology COO

Strategic Radiology (SR) of Minneapolis, MN will have a new COO this April. Randal Roat, CHBME, will join the physician practice group from Medical Management Professionals (MMP), where he was the national vice-president of radiology services. Nearly 20 years ago, Roat founded TriMed, a Michigan billing and practice management company that was later sold to MMP. Roat believes that his experience building TriMed and MMP as well as his involvement with the Healthcare Billing and Management Association will make him a valuable contributor at SR. “I think some of the skills developed collaboratively working in an environment like that are skills that transfer as well,” he says. Roat also expressed his excitement at the opportunity to work in operationalizing the strategies of the physician group. “They’ve basically gathered some of the best clinical minds in the country together to further the interests of radiology as a specialty,” Roat says. “I’m really looking forward to the opportunity to help them clinically integrate [and] educate the industry about radiology’s role in the broader practice of medicine.”
