Strategic Radiology Launches Physician Owned and Operated Telerad Service

Instead of begrudging teleradiology companies for the business they take from traditional physician-owned radiology groups, Strategic Radiology is moving to compete with them. Strategic Radiology, which is based in Palmetto, Fla., has launched SR Subspecialty Telerad Partners to support its member group practices with teleradiology services any day or time it is needed, including overnight, weekends and all holidays. In the press release launching the new service, Strategic Radiology explained that one reason it beats other teleradiology companies is that it is owned and operated by the physicians of Strategic Radiology, so it is on the same page as its member groups culturally and operationally. This will “keep any service or communication issues to an absolute minimum,” the company promised. It also promised to deliver:
  • Subspecialty final reads from board-certified, US-based teleradiology physicians
  • Rapid turnaround times for both stat and routine reads
  • 24/7/365 one-call access to teleradiology physicians for consults on final reports
  • Dedicated support staff including experienced IT and clinical quality experts
  • Clinical quality standards maintained at a level consistent with SR’s 16 member groups
SR Subspecialty Telerad Partners is currently being used by Strategic Radiology member groups Diversified Radiology in Denver and Hill Medical Corporation in Pasadena, Calif. The plan is for additional member groups to be added in “thoughtful progression.” The other current Strategic Radiology members are:
  • Advanced Diagnostic Imaging; Nashville, TN
  • Advanced Radiology Services; Grand Rapids, MI
  • Austin Radiological Association; Austin, TX
  • Charlotte Radiology; Charlotte, NC
  • Inland Imaging; Spokane, WA
  • Jefferson Radiology; Hartford, CT
  • Mountain Medical Physician Specialists; Salt Lake City, UT
  • Northwest Radiology; Indianapolis, IN
  • Quantum Radiology; Atlanta, GA
  • Radiology Associates of North Texas; Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX
  • Radiological Associates of Sacramento; Sacramento, CA
  • Radiology Ltd.; Tucson, AZ
  • Riverside Radiology and Interventional Associates; Columbus, OH
  • Southwest Diagnostic Imaging, and affiliates Scottsdale Medical Imaging and Valley Radiologists; Phoenix, AZ
