AQI Schedules Advocacy Day to Close Self Referral Loophole
Seeking to close the in-office ancillary services (IOAS) exception to the law preventing physician self referral for Medicare services, the Association for Quality Imaging (AQI) has scheduled a Washington, D.C., advocacy day on May 8.
The AQI hopes providers of diagnostic imaging services will join them in visiting the offices of legislators to educate lawmakers about the cost savings that would result they ended the misapplication of the IOAS exception within the anti-self referral Stark Law.
Participants should plan on attending the advocacy day breakfast briefing at 8 a.m. at the Charlie Palmer Steak restaurant near Capitol Hill. There, the AQI will provide coaching on how to lobby legislators and their staff, as well as distribute printed materials to leave behind at legislative offices visited.
Interested providers must register online prior to Friday, April 26. (Click here for registration form.)
