GE Makes Major Donation to Radiology Leadership Institute
GE Healthcare announced that it has made a “significant” donation to the ACR Foundation’s Leading Radiology into the Future campaign, although neither GE nor the ACR disclosed the exact amount.
The ACR Foundation has a little less than $2 million left to go to reach its goal of raising $5 million during Phase I of the campaign. On July 30, when the GE donation was announced, the ACR Foundation website listed GE as a “Partner” — a category for corporate sponsors that have donated more than half a million but less than a million.
According to the ACR Foundation, GE’s donation will be used to further develop and strengthen the Radiology Leadership Institute (RLI).
“GE is proud to support the Radiology Leadership Institute because it impacts both health care quality and leadership development globally, stated GE Chairman and CEO Jeff Immelt, in press releases on both GE’s and the ACR’s websites. “The future of radiology depends on, not just advanced technology, but empowering the next generation of radiology leaders.”
Paul H. Ellenbogen, M.D., FACR, chair of the American College of Radiology Board of Chancellors, thanked GE for contributing to the RLI campaign.
