Outpatient diagnostic center continues growth with expansion into Athens market

ATHENS, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Outpatient Diagnostic Center (“ODC”), a medical imaging provider with locations in Huntsville and Madison, is pleased to announce its acquisition of Athens based Valley Imaging and a long term alliance with its radiologist, Dr. Joe Cannon. Valley Imaging and Dr. Cannon have provided high quality, state of the art diagnostic imaging services in the area for over twenty years. As part of the relationship, Outpatient Diagnostic Center will rebrand the location as “Outpatient Diagnostic Center - Athens” and provide the center with management, marketing and billing services. Dr. Cannon will remain fully engaged as Medical Director and radiologist at ODC-Athens.

“I was born and raised in Limestone County,” Dr. Cannon says “and I remain as committed to my patients as much now as I ever have been. On the business side, ODC will take Valley Imaging to the next level and provide a more contemporary experience for patients. On the professional side, this partnership allows me to step away from the day to day management of the center and focus all of my attention on my patients. I could not be more excited about this relationship.”

Outpatient Diagnostic Center will continue to provide the Athens community and surrounding areas with the same services currently provided by Valley Imaging including MRI, CT, Mammography, Ultra Sound, Bone Density, Nuclear Medicine, X-Ray, as well as biopsies and other diagnostic procedures. Dr. Cannon will remain fully engaged with patients and referring physicians in the market.

This acquisition comes on the heels of Outpatient Diagnostic Center opening its newly expanded center in January at 398 Hughes Road in Madison. With centers located in Huntsville, Madison and now Athens, Outpatient Diagnostic Center is able to provide quality imaging at affordable rates to additional communities in North Alabama and Southern Tennessee.

Outpatient Diagnostic Center is accredited with the American College of Radiology. For more information or to schedule an exam, please call 256.534.5600.
