Radiology manager set to retire after 45 years at North Dakota's Jamestown Regional

After 45 years at Jamestown Regional Medical Center in North Dakota, radiology manager Diane Nelson is retiring at the end of April.

She started off as a radiology technologist in 1972. During that time, the hospital had two x-ray rooms and a darkroom. It since has grown into an eight-room area with state-of-the-art technology, partially due to the work she has put in. In an article by The Jamestown Sun, Nelson recalls her experiences working at JRMC and the staff members recognize her as being a leader.

“She has built the radiology department into what it is today with state-of-the-art technology and a highly skilled staff,” said K.C. DeBoer, CEO of JRMC, in the article.

When she started 45 years ago, there were three staff members and Nelson split her time between manager duties and patient care. As the radiology department grew to staffing 10 technologists and two clerks, Nelson moved into a full-time manager role.
