National Decision Support Company, Cerner make deal for ACR Select access

National Decision Support Company (NDSC) announced this week that a new exclusive agreement with Cerner Corporation allows clients to contract for ACR Select, the digital version of the American College of Radiology (ACR) Appropriateness Criteria, directly from within its Cerner Millennium EMR.

This agreement takes third-party integrators out of the picture, speeding up the implementation of ACR Select and creating a simpler overall experience for the user.

“We sought a partner to not only meet the needs of the Protecting Access to Medicare Act, but also to drive to an end-state where appropriate care is delivered through evidence-based care pathways, access to care is improved through the reduction of wasteful administrative processes, and costs are lowered from unnecessary radiology exams,” Brandon Long, Cerner Corporation director of radiology and clinical imaging, said in a statement. “NDSC shares this vision, and together with our clients we will realize these benefits.”

“We're pleased that Cerner has decided to work directly with us as the primary source of the American College of Radiology Appropriateness Criteria,” Michael Mardini, NDSC CEO, said in the same statement. “It's a true demonstration of their trust in NDSC.”
