MMA to have mobile brain scanners on deck

Imagine a blow to the head, swelling, obscured vision and moments later being rushed to a hospital. This scenario is playing out far too often in mixed martial arts (MMA), which is why many are turning to Infrascanners, a mobile device that enables clinicians to detect intracranial bleeding in patients with head trauma.

The Infrascanner is a handheld brain scanner that's able to reduce the wait time between injury and diagnosis, allowing doctors to perform surgery before it is too late.

Florida MMA camp the Blackzilians and the Russian Martial Arts Association have taken extra precautions and purchased the Infrascanner. Even a couple teams from the National Football League (NFL), the NFL Head, Neck and Spine Committee and the Russian Sports Agency for Olympic Teams have gotten their hands on them.
