Balum Imaging Selects eRAD's RIS / PACS Platform
Greenville, S.C., May 4th, 2016- eRAD announced today that Balum Imaging, a multi-modality outpatient imaging facility in Columbia, Md., has selected a comprehensive suite of eRAD solutions, including cloud-based RIS and PACS, to automate its business and clinical workflow.
eRAD is a subsidiary of RadNet, Inc. and a leading provider of standards-based, web-centric radiology image and data management solutions.
Balum Imaging wanted to leverage a cloud-based platform that would improve workflow, provide physician and patient portals, and streamline the remote reading and reporting of the Radiology group by moving images to the clinician rather than the other way around--a key differentiator for a growing imaging center like Balum. eRAD will reduce the complexity of sharing patient and study data and deliver a single, flexible platform, alleviating the need to rig disparate components together.
Matt DeHaven, Practice Administrator at Balum, said, "Other systems didn't come close to eRAD's feature set. They provide tools to capture the information in real-time rather than historically, and it's done in a user-friendly way, which was an important criterion for us." eRAD's radiology-centric workflow and dashboard functionality was a driving factor in Balum's decision.
Reducing IT complexity allows Balum to focus on clinical priorities. "Using the eRAD cloud technology will allow us to focus on the care of our patients rather than the care of our image and data management," DeHaven stated. DeHaven also recognizes that the collaborative nature of the eRAD team will serve him well as Balum grows, and this solidified his decision. "We compared many vendors and went with eRAD because I found the team knowledgeable and responsive. From Sales to implementation, I am very pleased with the whole process and feel completely confident in the eRAD team."
"A key success to this implementation and go-live is our ability to get Balum up and running within a very short timeline," said Seth Koeppel, SVP of Sales for eRAD. "Even with three or four interfaces, we will quickly deliver the programming interfaces they need so that those systems will be able to communicate easily."
