Georgia hospital opens new $5M IR suite
Piedmont Henry Hospital in Stockbridge, Georgia, has opened a brand new $5 million interventional radiology (IR) suite, which includes seven preparation and recovery areas and a separate room for procedures.
The suite, located in the hospital’s South Tower, provides radiologists with nearly 3,600 square feet to care for patients, according to reporting from the Marietta Daily Journal.
Chuck Gilliland, MD, chief radiologist at Piedmont Henry Hospital, said in a statement that IR procedures are not new to the hospital. However, he said, “this new suite allows us to perform even more life-saving procedures right here in our hospital.”
Gilliland also called the IR suite, as well as the hospital’s recently upgraded MRI equipment, a “win-win” for both patients and the surrounding area.
