FDA Clears Hitachi CT System

imageHitachi Medical Systems America yesterday announced that it has received FDA clearance to market its SCENARIA ™ 64-slice CT system in the U.S. The system is configured to support routine and advanced applications, says Mark Silverman, Hitachi’s manager of CT marketing. Its suite of enhanced dose reduction and awareness features includes Intelli IP™ Iterative Reconstruction and Intelli EC™ 3D automatic exposure control, as well as a Dose Check component that notifies the operator before scanning if a selected scan protocol will result in a patient dose higher than reference levels.
