GE's Radiology App Gains FDA Approval

Applications for iPhone and iPad devices just got a lot more sophisticated as radiologists will now be able to remotely diagnose patient images from GE’s Centricity PACS. The Food and Drug Administration recently approved GE's App for advanced CT and MRI image review on mobile devices. The new technology should allow for easier access and greater productivity for radiologists who are increasingly mobile. It also reports to protect patient identity by not actually downloading any information to the device. Centricity Radiology Mobile Access 2.0 is "the industry’s only mobile product with clearance for primary diagnosis that accesses images and reports from Centricity PACS," according to a press release.
