Health Care Jobs Rank on 'Most Overrated' List
Three different jobs in the health care industry rank among the most overrated occupations in 2011, according to a ranking by
national job search portal CareerCast.com.
Surgeons, physicians, and psychiatrists landed in the number two, three, and four spots on the list, respectively.Senior corporate executives—a category that could conceivably include those in the health care field—took top ranking.
CareerCast.com based the rankings on its 2011 Jobs Rated report. The report is an analysis of five core aspects of 200 jobs; these aspects encompass work environment, income, stress, physical demands, and outlook,
Increased regulations, lower compensation, and the required need to stay abreast of medical developments placed physicians high
on the list. High stress, shaky stability, and long hours that take away from quality time were the factors that landed corporate executives in the number-one position on the list.
