Innovative Image Exchange Announced for New York RHIO

eHealth Global Technologies and OptumInsight announced plans to roll out an innovate image exchange system among a group of eight counties in western New York. Organized around a Regional Health Information Organization called HEALTHeLINK, physicians within the New York counties, which include Buffalo and Niagara Falls, will have access to a system that enables rapid, secure access to diagnostic images. Having the right information at the time doctors made decisions about care can reduce unnecessary medical exams and therefore reduces patient exposure to radiation, Dan Porreca, HEALTHeLINK’s Executive Director, based on a press release.
