Konica Minolta Medical Imaging Names New President and COO
Former GE executive and medical device industry veteran David Widmann will replace Henry Kobayashi as president and COO of the Japanese diagnostic imaging company.
Widmann is the former general manager of global diagnostic x-ray at GE Healthcare. According to the press release announcing his appointment, while at GE he “consistently delivered double-digit annual revenue growth, developed and launched over 20 new products, and solidified the company’s top market position.”
Konica Minolta Medical Imaging, headquartered in Wayne, NJ, is a unit of Konica Minolta Inc., which in turn is based in Tokyo. It has approximately 41,800 employees and last year, its revenues were $8.2 billion, according to the company.
“David has the experience and knowledge to successfully lead Konica Minolta Medical Imaging during a time of enormous change in healthcare,” said Kobayashi in the press release. “He has already demonstrated great leadership in driving our transformation and building a strong foundation for the future that positions our company, our partners and our customers for success and a promising future.”
