New Cloud-based MU Solution for Radiology Debuts
Raleigh, NC-based ImagingElements has introduced a cloud-based meaningful use (MU) services solution for radiology practices, called ElementMU. Designed to mitigate workflow impact while supporting MU compliance, the service leverages an ONC-ATCB-certified complete ambulatory EHR and custom-designed radiology user interface.
“This is an important year for radiology and meaningful use,” Bob Cooke, co-founder and CEO of ImagingElements, said. “By complying with the program this year, radiology can receive the maximum available incentive and avoid future costly penalties. Its our belief that the best way the radiology community can have a voice in the future impact of the program is through participation.”
ElementMU integrates with existing imaging IT solutions and is available as a month subscription service to practices. The service features a reporting dashboard where a practice can track progress toward meeting MU measures on an individual radiologist or practice basis.
“Since most clients will be just getting started with MU, its helpful to perform some trial runs of the data capture process before beginning a formal period of data collection,” Cooke told imagingBiz. “As part of the subscription, we'll work with the site to ensure a complete and compliant capture of the required data, and identify and resolve any issues that might be identified during the test phase.”
During setup, the company performs integration with the external systems to capture data required for meaningful use, assists in selecting the measures to which the practice will attest (and from which it can be excluded), and works with the site to ensure it is capturing accurate and complete data for attestation.
“ImagingElements allows us to achieve Meaningful Use in a cost-effective manner with minimal workflow impact,” Donald Detweiller, MD, said in a press release. Detweiller is president of Raleigh Radiology, which will use the service to demonstrate meaningful use in 2013. “Their unique approach to helping us select the right measures and exams for attestation will allow us to maximize our incentive. We also can keep our existing technology, and still receive the incentive.”
