Toshiba Launches 3D Roadmapping Solution
Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. has introduced Volume Navigation 3D, a roadmapping solution intended for use with any model in its InfinixTM-i vascular X-ray product line.
The solution links the movements of x-ray system components with fusion 3D and fluoroscopic displays, enabling 3D overlays to be accurately and automatically aligned with fluoroscopic images despite any changes in positioning, according to the company. 2D and 3D display modes and three manual adjustments permit images to be optimized at any stage of a given procedure. 2D roadmap and 3D roadmap displays on separate monitors, enhanced visualization of wires and other interventional devices, and better visualization of complex AVM shunt vessels allow complex vascular structures to be deciphered and navigated more easily, leading to quicker, more precise performance of complicated interventions, asserts Doug Ryan, Toshiba’s vice president of marketing and strategic development.
Volume Navigation is said to be particularly helpful when used during procedures on intricate vascular regions, such as the brain, uterus, and abdomen. It has received 510 (k) clearance from the FDA.
